OpenVibe.Tools

OpenVibe.Tools is the tools suite of the OpenVibe network: openvibe.tools plus tool subdomains under *.openvibe.tools. Its gateway runs on port 4001.

What it does

It owns the tool registry (families, tools, descriptors and canonical, short and alias hosts), the catalog and every tool page, the run API and the jobs runtime for img, audio and docs jobs with files and SSE progress, and the guard (callers, quotas, sniffing, egress throttles and a PostgreSQL abuse log). Eight apps make up the suite: gateway on 4001, maps on 4010, food on 4011 (the food finder's API; its page moved to OpenVibe.Food), img on 4012, yt on 4013, audio on 4014, text on 4015 and docs on 4016. It also owns the tools.* events, Tools' Search documents and the tools.usage user module.

What it does not do yet

Quotas for external developer apps are the guard's service and sandbox tiers, not a Codes-issued quota. Some operations need a program on the host (ffmpeg, yt-dlp, qpdf, poppler, libheif, mtr) and answer an error until it is installed. Every network tool is built: Traceroute and MTR run without raw sockets, and Domain Reputation scores public signals, each finding with its cost.

How it fits the network

It uses OpenVibe.Network for SSO and identity, OpenVibe.Media for job results, OpenVibe.Events for job and usage events, OpenVibe.Search for tool documents, OpenVibe.Community for the paste hand-over, and OpenVibe.Billing for job usage readings.

Status

STATUS.json's stage is "stable"; it is deployed with the multi-app strategy to openvibe.tools, with its capabilities registered.
