OpenVibe.VIP

OpenVibe.VIP is the membership product at openvibe.vip. A creator publishes a plan, a member joins it through OpenVibe.Billing, and every OpenVibe product can ask VIP whether a person is a member and may see a members-only resource.

What it does

• Tiers. A creator sells up to ten tiers, one plan each, at the monthly price they set; Billing keeps and charges the price. A member holds one tier of a creator at a time.
• Plans with fixed terms. Every edit of a plan is a new, immutable version, and a membership always points at the version it was bought under. Plans carry no price: Billing sets and charges it.
• Perks such as badges, emotes, members-only content, rooms and roles, bound to the products that show them.
• Members-only resources. A product registers a resource as being for a creator's members, and VIP answers whether a person may see it.
• Membership checks for anyone's software. An app or tool where a person signed in with OpenVibe can ask VIP, with that person's token, whether they are a member; an expired, unknown or unreachable answer is always no.
• Cards and badges that other sites can embed.

How it fits the network

• OpenVibe.Billing holds subscriptions and entitlements; VIP holds plans and perks.
• OpenVibe.Community, OpenVibe.Blog, OpenVibe.Chat and OpenVibe.Wiki use VIP for members-only content.
• Identities come from OpenVibe.Network.

Status

STATUS.json's stage is "alpha". VIP launched at openvibe.vip on 2026-10-17 with checkout open, right after Billing became the money ledger, and creators could sell tiers the same day. A channel page on OpenVibe.Live lists a creator's higher tiers next to its Subscribe button.
