OpenVibe.News is a publication product, served at openvibe.news, that turns collected news items into editor-written, source-backed stories. The README calls it "A publication product, not an autonomous headline generator".

What it does

OpenVibe.Sources collects news items, and News normalises them, removes duplicates, groups them into explainable clusters, and gives editors tools to write stories. Every paragraph an editor publishes cites the source items it rests on, and the README states a story with no sources cannot be published. Stories have immutable revisions, timelines, editor-written perspectives, corrections, updates and final retractions. Ingestion works two ways: an Events webhook and a cursor pull. Discussion threads are referenced from OpenVibe.Community, and optional OpenVibe.AI drafts need a person's review. Pages are server-rendered and useful without JavaScript.

Beside the stories, News has AI briefs: what a cluster's reports say, written by OpenVibe.AI and labelled as AI on every page. Every paragraph cites the reports it rests on, claims the model did not cite are dropped and listed under "What the AI left out", and a run with no cited text makes no brief. A reader can ask for a brief in another tone, or for how the outlets put it, and /live shows the newest reports as they arrive, marking as Breaking a subject that three or more reports covered in the last two hours. Briefs and Live are noindex: they are AI text and other publishers' headlines, not News' writing.

What it does not do yet

The home page shows the latest items from the source wires, each linking to its source. Full article text from sources is never stored, shown, fed or indexed. Edited stories exist only once an editor opens one from a cluster and publishes it, and none has been published yet.

How it fits the network

News depends on OpenVibe.Sources for items, OpenVibe.Events for events, OpenVibe.Network for SSO and subjects, OpenVibe.Community for comments, OpenVibe.Search for indexing and OpenVibe.AI for briefs.

Status

The README states the status is alpha (roadmap Wave 17, News half), public at openvibe.news since 2026-10-09, and that STATUS.json records it deployed. License: AGPL-3.0.
