OpenVibe.Codes is the open coding-agent harness of the OpenVibe network, public at https://openvibe.codes on port 4900 (service id codes). It is alpha.
What it does
Codes is "the open coding-agent harness for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Command Code, Aider, the DeepSeek API and models you host yourself". The openvibe-codes command, a CLI and Node.js module, runs a coding task on an agent that fits it, hands the task to the next agent when one fails or goes quiet, and keeps every run. Every adapter turns its agent's output into one Claude Code stream-json-shaped event stream, with keys, tokens and private keys redacted. The site carries the agent catalog, a public routing API (POST /api/v1/harnesses/route), getting started, Improve OpenVibe and the community documents. Everything is server-rendered and usable without JavaScript.
One of its agents is OpenVibe.AI: the harness's own agent loop runs on AI's OpenAI-compatible endpoint with an app's Network token, and each answer reports its cost. Since 2026-10-15 Codes also runs OpenVibe Git, Forgejo at openvibe.codes/git, signed in with an OpenVibe account, with read mirrors of the OpenVibers GitHub repositories.
What it does not do yet
On 2026-10-08 the developer console that used to live here moved to OpenVibe.Services, and every former console address answers a permanent redirect there. Codes is now the open coding-agent harness and its CLI. Not built yet:
- a hosted runner on OpenVibe.Run workers, with budgets and metering, for people who do not run agents themselves;
- OpenVibe.Actor using Codes for its coding work;
- Improve OpenVibe as a guided run on the site (repository, change, tests, review, pull request); today it is the harness plus the contributor path on GitHub;
- the community documents, which are drafts pending the owner's review.
How it fits the network
Codes signs in with OpenVibe.Network and depends on PostgreSQL 18 and Valkey 9 on OpenVibe.Host. It does not own accounts, projects or grants (OpenVibe.Network) or provider keys (OpenVibe.AI). The harness runs on a person's own machine with their own CLIs and keys; nothing goes through OpenVibe unless they pick the OpenVibe.AI agent.
Runtime and status
Node 22 and Express 4, PostgreSQL 18 (ov_codes) and Valkey 9, unit openvibe-codes.service on 127.0.0.1:4900. STATUS.json records the stage as "alpha" and the service deployed. License: AGPL-3.0.
